APMP 2007 Meetings

The APMP 2007 Meetings (TC, DEC and GA) will be held at:

  • the Menzies Sydney Hotel, 14 Carrington Street, Sydney, and

  • Standards Australia's meeting rooms, Level 10, 20 Bridge Street, Sydney.

    • Breaks for each meeting will be at 10.30am (Morning break: 20 mins), 12.30pm (Lunch: 1 hour) and 3 pm (Afternoon break: 20 mins).

    Start and end times for each meeting are indicated below.

    The registration desk will be open in the main foyer of the Menzies Hotel at the following times
    Sunday, 28th October: 09:00 - 19:00
    Monday 29th October: 08:00 - 19:00
    Tuesday 30th October: 08:30 - 19:00
    Thursday 1st November: 08:00 - 19:00
    Friday 2nd November: 08:00 - 13:00

    Please note delegates will not be able to register at Standards Australia. All delegates must register at The Menzies Hotel.

    APMP DEVELOPING ECONOMIES' COMMITTEE (DEC) MEETING

    28 & 30 October 2007
    Venue: Menzies Sydney Hotel

    The first session of the DEC Meeting will take place on Sunday afternoon, 28th October (1.30 to 5 pm) and the second session on Tuesday morning, 30th October 2007 (9 am to 12.30 pm).

    TC Meeting Times:
    For all participants in meetings being held at Standards Australia, please note that there is a security clearance process to enter the building so we suggest that you aim to reach the venue by no later than 8:40am each morning.

    • Monday 29th October: Meetings commence at 9am and finish at 5 pm
    • Tuesday 30th October: Meetings commence at 9am and may continue till 3 pm
    • Tuesday 30th October: The first TC Chairs-EC Meeting is scheduled to begin at 3.30 pm at the Menzies Sydney Hotel.

    JOINT APMP-ILAC/IAF SYMPOSIUM

    31 October 2007
    Venue: Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney

    "Interactions between National Metrology Institutes and Accreditation Bodies for Laboratories, & Inspection and Certification Bodies - with particular focus on issues for Developing Economies"

    In association with the APMP 2007 meetings, the APMP 2007 Organising Committee is jointly convening a half-day Symposium with the Australian hosts of the international ILAC/IAF 2007 meetings, NATA and JAS-ANZ. The Symposium will be held at the Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney, on Wednesday morning, 31st October, from 8.45am-1pm. The Symposium program is available here. APMP 2007 delegates, please note that registration for the Symposium is included in all registration types.

    23rd APMP GENERAL ASSEMBLY

    1 - 2 November 2007
    Venue: Menzies Sydney Hotel

    The 23rd APMP General Assembly will take place on Thursday 1st November (9am to 5pm) and Friday 2nd November (9am to approx 3 pm).

    The second TC Chairs-EC Meeting is scheduled to begin at 3.30 pm on Friday 2nd November.

    Laboratory Tours

    Laboratory Tours at the National Measurement Institute's Sydney sites have been arranged for the afternoon of Wednesday, 31 October, 14:00 to 17:00. The Laboratory Tours are grouped into four streams:

  • Chemical Metrology

  • Optical Metrology

  • Electrical Metrology

  • Dimensional Metrology

    • Coaches will depart from the Amora Hotel Jamison on Jamison Street at 13:00 to take you to the National Measurement Institute's laboratories at Lindfield (Physical Metrology) and Pymble (Chemical & Biological Metrology). They will return at 17:00, arriving back in the city at approximately 17:45. To book one of these tours, please indicate your preference on the registration form. The tours are included in all registration types.

    ANSTO Tour for participants in the APMP Technical Committee for Ionising Radiation (TCRI):
    A separate laboratory tour to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO)'s facilities in Lucas Heights, Sydney, has been organised on Wednesday afternoon, 31st October, specifically for TCRI delegates. Registrants in the TCRI meetings will be notified by e-mail of the arrangements for this tour, with a shuttle bus also planned to leave from the Amora Hotel Jamison after the Symposium and to return to the city for the Symposium Dinner on Wednesday evening.

    Specialist Tours for Technical Committees
